3 Tools to Achieve Your Business Goals & Succeed in 2024

Creating a goal is one thing. Reviewing your progress and creating actionable steps each week is what will move you toward achieving that goal!

Are you ready for the new year? Ready for 2024 to be the year you go further in your business? Ready to see progress in your hopes and dreams?

The end of the year is always a great time to reflect on the past year, to review those goals that you made at the beginning of the year (if you remember them), and to acknowledge your successes and challenges. Take some time to reflect on the past year and answer these questions:

  • What worked really well?
  • What didn’t work?
  • What challenges can you learn from?

During this time of reflection, don’t get too focused on the past. Yes, we should review how things went but give yourself grace if you didn't meet or achieve all of your goals. Use those lessons to look forward into the new year.

Take some time to brainstorm and dream about how you want your next year to look.

  • What are your hopes and aspirations for your business? For your personal life?
  • Where do you want to see yourself in 12 months time? (If that seems too overwhelming, how do you want to finish Quarter 1?)

Now that you have taken time to brainstorm, you can create goals that fit around your hopes and dreams. We are much more inclined to work toward a goal that gets us excited and is aligned with our hopes and dreams, rather than just pulling something out of thin air because we think we need to.

Set at least one goal for the next quarter to move you further down the path of success in your business. I like to create at least one revenue goal, one marketing goal, and one professional development goal. Once you have your goals, you need to incorporate them into your business and marketing plans for the year and review your progress at least once a quarter.

Today, I would like to share three tools that I have found helpful in planning out my goals as well as moving forward to achieving them throughout the year.

3 Tools to help achieve your business (and life) goals:

1. Full Focus Goal Setting Course by Michael Hyatt

This on-demand course by Michael Hyatt has been a game-changer for me. (Not only that – it has been a game-changer for my husband too! We now make it a priority to find time to sit down together at the end of December or the beginning of January to reflect on the past year together, to dream of our next year, and create goals together).

The Full Focus Goal Setting Course walks you through Michael’s proven system of setting and achieving goals at any time of the year. This course also helps you understand the limiting beliefs that have been holding you back and guides you in brainstorming your hopes and dreams for all areas of your life (not just in your business). Additionally, this course guides you in setting SMARTER goals that will help you move forward towards those hopes and dreams.

What are SMARTER goals? They are SMART goals with two additional attributes that I think make the difference in setting goals that are realistic and attainable so you can get the results you are wanting:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Actionable
  • Risky
  • Time-bound
  • Exciting
  • Relevant

If you feel stuck in your business or other areas of your life, this course will teach you a goal-setting system that is flexible with whatever life throws at you. It follows a process that is easy to learn, repeat, and track year after year, and has been proven to work in any environment.

2. Full Focus Planner

This second tool that I use works well alongside the Full Focus Goal Setting course, especially as the goal setting course was designed and updated with their Full Focus Planner in mind. I use the Full Focus Planner to tie all my goals and plans together. I am very much a pen-and-paper type of gal.

I have found that this planner has helped me not only stay productive on a daily basis, but it keeps the goals I set at the beginning of the year front and center throughout the year.

I don’t know about you, but I can so quickly lose sight of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Whether it’s a business goal or personal life goal, if I don’t have a system that is helping me review these goals on a consistent basis, I lose track of them.

With the Full Focus Planner, you are encouraged to review your goals on a quarterly basis, monthly basis, and even weekly basis. This helps you track your progress and create those small actionable steps each week to move closer toward your goals. This past year, I didn’t achieve all of the goals I created for myself at the beginning of the year. However, I did get a lot closer to achieving them than I have ever before because I was adding in this step of reviewing, tracking, and setting those smaller actionable steps into my weekly routine.

If you are struggling with achieving your goals, I would highly recommend giving the Full Focus Planner a try. You can check it out here: https://fullfocusplanner.com/system

3. Ultimate Marketing Content Planner

The final tool I would like to share with you today is one that specifically helps you with your marketing and business goals. It guides you through digging deeper into those goals and helps you plan out your marketing for the year.

The Ultimate Marketing Content Planner by Kathy Colaiacovo with Pepper It Marketing is one of the best marketing planners I have seen. In addition to over 500 ready-to-use pieces of content, Kathy provides valuable training on how to plan out your marketing in a way that will support your SMARTER goals. This planner will help you to be consistent in getting more results from your marketing (aka gain more business clients!) all in a way that will save you time! As Kathy says, she will “help you learn how you can do less marketing and get more results!”

Much of the success from using Kathy’s Ultimate Marketing Content Planner comes from following her Thrive Marketing Method: a system that streamlines your marketing so you can spend more time to work on your business and with your clients. A big component of this method is repurposing your one main piece of cornerstone content into additional pieces to share elsewhere on your social media channels … all to save you time and get you more results. (You can learn more about repurposing your marketing content here: 10 Ways to Repurpose One Piece of Marketing Content.)

With the Ultimate Marketing Content Planner, you have space to plan out the themes or topics that you want to focus your marketing content on throughout the year. It also gives you room to organize the months that you plan to launch courses, products or services, so you can plan out your specific content more easily.

The marketing system and process I recommend for my clients is based on Kathy’s Ultimate Marketing Content Planner and her Thrive Marketing Method. My recommendation is not just due to the success Kathy has seen with over 500 clients and hundreds of students through her programs. It also stems from the success I have seen in my own marketing and the marketing of many of my clients.

These three tools have helped me plan out my business and marketing goals and move towards achieving these goals throughout the year. If you struggle with goal-setting (and achieving those goals) for your business, I highly recommend taking a look at these tools to help you stay consistent and to keep moving forward toward achieving your goals for the year. I know they will be a benefit to you and your business success in 2023.
