What is the purpose behind your business? Your interests? Your life? What motivates you on those hard, challenging days? Do you know what your big why is?

The Foundation Of What You Do

Have you sat down and written out your big why? Have you re-evaluated it recently? Defining your Big Why should be one of the first things you do. It is the foundation to moving forward in the right direction, for staying anchored during the great and the challenging times. Your Big Why:

  • Is the foundation for establishing your goals
  • Keeps you focused on what is important
  • Motivates you to stay focused on your vision
  • Drives you when things get tough

Simon Sinek has a great TED Talk called “Start With Why”. (If you haven’t watched it, you can watch the 5 minute clip here.) In the TED Talk, Simon tells us that people relate more quickly to why you do something, than the what or how you do it, Simon Sinek Quote

What's Your Why?

If you haven’t, I would encourage you to schedule out some time this week, even just 10 minutes, to ask yourself “Why?

  • Why am I doing this?
  • Why do I get out of bed in the morning?
  • What is my purpose?
  • What is my belief?
  • What is the cause of my business?

After you’ve defined your big why, write it down and put it in a place that you will see every day. Write it down on a post-it, put it in your monthly planner, or create a design to frame using Canva if you want something more creative (see my creation below). No matter how you display your big why, the most important part is to put it in a place that will remind you of your purpose each day. Remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing, every day.

My Big Why

I want to share with you, my big why. Why did I start Tiel Virtual Solutions? Why do I spend my daughter’s nap time and evenings working on this business? Why? Tiel Virtual Solutions Big Why

My Family is my Big Why.

My daughter is my Big Why.

I started this journey so that our family could have good health and stability, whilst allowing me to be a stay-at-home-mom.

And yes, there are many secondary ‘why’s’, including financial freedom, purpose as more than just a mom and wife, working from home, sharing what I love,  as well as supporting you in your journey and business by helping you do what you love to do.

I am very excited for this journey, where I have come from and where I (and Tiel Virtual Solutions) will go. I can’t wait to get to know you better!
