It can be hard to find the time to plan out your content marketing, but this is a very important part of your marketing plan.
If you do not have a plan for your content marketing, then your marketing won’t happen.
You may lose out on potential clients and leads finding you.
If you know the importance of online marketing to reach potential clients, than you should know the importance of taking the time to make a plan. Without a plan, you won’t go far with your marketing.
Here are 3 tips I have recently implemented with my own online marketing content plan. I know that if you start implementing these tips you will see growth in your own online marketing.
Plan a quarterly or yearly business retreat.
I recently went on my first business planning retreat! And I highly recommend all entrepreneurs do the same thing! After finding a weekend that worked for my husband to be home with the kids, I took myself off to a hotel and holed up in a hotel room from Friday evening until Sunday late afternoon. This allowed me to focus solely on some business planning and content planning for the next quarter without the distractions of family and tasks needing my attention at home.
In this weekend, I was able to figure out a content scheduling plan, brainstorm content ideas and begin writing out some of my content to share with you. Having this time by myself, to plan and write, eliminated the risks of life happening. And I got things planned! I am already thinking ahead to when I can plan my next business planning retreat!
Schedule regular time in your calendar for content creation
We can’t always get away to a hotel for a planning retreat or we may not finish all of our content creation if we can get a way. Therefore, it is so important to block time into our schedule for content creation. And I will be the first to admit that I find this hard to do. It is so much easier for me to work on my clients’ online marketing needs and move my own marketing needs to the side.
If this sounds like you, I encourage you to open your calendar app right now and figure out what day and time you are at your most creative, and block that time into you calendar. Go ahead … do it right now. I will also stop and do it myself. 🙂 Schedule in that hour each week to sit down and focus on writing your own marketing content on a regular, consistent basis. Your future entrepreneur-self will thank you!
Make a plan and stick to it.
How many of you have made content marketing plans or have bought already done-for-you marketing plans with good intentions, and are yet to put them into use? You are not alone!
It is time for you to dust off that content marketing plan, update it if necessary, and start implementing it today. Just start and see what happens.
